Bold but inviting is the description I would provide should someone ask me my first impression of the title “Studio Dreams” which I believe stems from multiple levels of interpretation. For all creative's the word “studio” holds a degree of emotional representation that is deeply embedded in the instinctive and subconscious mind of every artist when contemplating their creation zone. A word that I feel is relevant when exploring the topic of an artist's emotional response to the notion of a studio is “Image repertoire” which highlights an often-romanticized insight into how artist's associate the nostalgia of creative practice with the location and zone of its construct. That is to say that many artists have an “Image repertoire” of a manifested euphoria built into the reception of their selected “Studio” space. And yet on the flip side of this concept a studio can be depicted as a cage called “9 to 5”, where the rat races faster yet never nears its place of comfort. It’s a place to get things done, make ends meet, and finalize steps enabling other aspects of life to manifest in relief before the whole painstaking process begins anew.
