Following the recently created PowerPoint presentation which
I created to pitch my project to my tutors and peers for feedback as well as
the thumbnail compositions which I dedicated my time to constructing, I decided
that it was now time for me to flex my muscles to explore and experiment the
outlined style which I have decided to work with through a digitally
illustrated style test. The process which I utilised during my experiment was
to focus on using the pen and shape tool to construct and combine from basic
shapes into bigger more engaging ones. For this test I worked in primarily
shades ignoring colour application to a later stage in the creative process.
As demonstrated above, the results of my style test clearly
capture a level of my intentions which I originally had for this production in
response to the style and vision I outlined in my scripted proposal. This
variation in the style I responded to focuses on a more angular vision when
discussing the “Simple vs Complex” ratio regarding style as a concept. I am
confident that this first draft of visual development has provided me with a
wealth of information and intuitive experience which I will be using to guide
the evolution of my final design outcome.
